National Center for Sports Safety Make Your Athletes Safer—Get Educated! Athlete safety and injury prevention are two very important aspects of your role as a coach. PREPARE is an online sports safety course that is aimed at educating coaches on how to prevent common injuries, how to recognize symptoms of potentially dangerous conditions, and how to respond in emergency situations. PREPARE provides participants with valuable information that is relevant both on and off the playing field. The course costs only $28 and can be completed at your own pace since it is online. |

U.S. Soccer's Coaching Department was established in the early 1970s by famed West German teacher and coach Dettmar Cramer. It provides for one curriculum and progresses to seven levels of certification. These levels are designed to meet needs of coaches ranging from the parent coach, who is usually inexperienced in soccer, to the former professional player desiring to become sufficiently proficient to coach in top-level amateur, pro and international competitions. |

Based in Kansas City, Kan., the NSCAA is the largest coaches' organization in the United States. Since its founding in 1941, it has grown to include more than 26,000 members who coach both genders at all levels of the sport. In addition to a national rankings program for colleges and high schools, NSCAA offers an extensive recognition program that presents nearly 10,000 individual awards every year. It fulfills its mission of coaching education through a nationwide program of clinics and week-long courses, teaching more than 4,000 soccer coaches each year. |
