Competitive, or Traveling, Soccer in Burnsville has a long and storied history. State Champions, National Champions and National Team Players have all come out of our community. The competitive soccer year consists of two playing seasons, described below. Click on the title for detailed information and to enter the registration system. The main competitive season is the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) summer competitive leagues. Practicing begins in April, with League and Tournament play during May, June and July. The season wraps up with the State Tournament in early August. Tryouts/Signups for Summer Competitive teams occur in August and September, immediately following the preceding season. Supplemental tryouts may happen over the winter for teams still needing players. The Burnsville Fire Soccer Club is in the MYSA South District, consisting of the communities of Bloomington, Eagan, Lakeville, Apple Valley, Rosemount, Farmington, Northfield, Albert Lea, Rochester, Austin, and LaCrosse. Most teams will play their league games against these South District Foes. To view our Summer 2008 rosters, click here. Fall Competitive League The Fall Competitive League is for players too young to play school soccer. This MYSA-sponsored league consists of 6 games over 6 weeks in September and October, with the season wrapping up with the post-season Harvest Fest in late October. No tryouts are held for Fall Competitive teams, teams are formed based on Summer Competitive rosters. |
