BFSC COERVER CENTER OF EXCELLENCE ENROLLMENT TOPS 90 PLAYERS IN FIRST YEAR (12/2/08)
Burnsville Fire Soccer Club launched Minnesota's first internal club Coerver Center of Excellence (COE) in November. With nearly forty players in the U8-U10 Session and fifty-seven players in the U11-U12 Session, this is the largest Coerver Center of Excellence in the state. The COE features 18 weeks of intensive footskills and small group tactical training. COE players receive a special Adidas BFSC Coerver COE uniform and highest-level coaching and training. The training staff for the COE: Simon Whitehead, Director of Coerver Coaching, Minnesota; Tony Englund, BFSC Director of Coaching; Jeff Dennehy, BFSC Assistant Director of Coaching; OJ Okello, BFSC U13C1G Coach and long-time high-level and Coerver trainer; and Matt Holmes, who played with the St. Paul Blackhawks 1990 National Championship Team. Matt also has considerable experience as a BFSC trainer.

U14 PREMIER GIRLS EARN INVITATION TO MIDWEST REGIONAL LEAGUE (12/1/08)
Congratulations to the Under-14, Premier Girls who have accepted an invitation to participate in the Spring 2009 Midwest Regional League First Division. The Midwest Regional League (MRL) is a prestigious league composed of the top teams throughout Region II (MN, IA, IL, SD, ND, KS, KY, MI, MO, NE, WI, OH, IN). Only four Minnesota teams will compete in this league, with games occuring on weekends in April, May and June at host sites across the region.

U11C3 GIRLS AND U14C2 BOYS EARN FALL OATHS AWARDS (12/1/08)
Congratulations to the Under-11, Classic 3 Girls and Under-14, Classic 2 Boys who both captured OATHS Awards during the 2008 MYSA Fall Competitive Season.
OATHS (Outstanding Ambassadors of Teams Honoring Sportsmanship) is an encouragement education program for traveling Under 9 through Under 19 boys and girls teams that distinguish athletes, coaches and fans for their dedication to good sportsmanship. The goal is to allow the players to enjoy the sporting event as well as the total complement of fans, referees and coaches.
Teams receiving the highest accumulated marks over the course of the season are presented with recognition pins, special gifts and a certificate of achievement.
