Referee Licensing Clinics

The State Instructors Office has approved our hosting the referee clinics please below.

Grade 9 - Referee Clinic (Assistant Referee or Line Referee) Saturday March 29, 2008 from 7:30am-5pm @ Burnsville City Hall
1-day course that is one of the entry points into the US Soccer Referee Program.  Participants who successfully complete this 1-day course are able to be center referees on any U14 recreational game (in-house or recreational, non-traveling) or any MYSA  U9/U10 traveling game (must be older than the players) or be an assistant referee in any MYSA traveling game.  This is a great way to increase your number of referees with minimal class-time commitment and it is a great way for referees to enter the program.

Grade 8 - Entry Level Clinic ( Center Referee) Saturday February 9 & 16, 2008 from 9am-6pm @ Burnsville Senior High
2-day course that is one of the entry points into the US Soccer Referee Program.  Participants that successfully complete this 2-day course are able to be center referees or assistant referees in any game. 

Recertification Clinic (3 years or less) Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 8:30am-2pm @ Burnsville City Hall
1-day course that every returning referee with 3 years of experience or less has to attend to complete the requirements for recertification.

Recertification Clinic (4 years or more) Saturday, January 19, 2008 from 9am-2pm @ Burnsville City Hall
1-day course that every returning referee with more than 3 years of experience has to attend to complete the requirements for recertification.

Recertification Clinic (3 years or less) Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 9am-2:30pm @ Burnsville City Hall
1-day course that every returning referee with 3 years of experience or less has to attend to complete the requirements for recertification.

Recertification Clinic (4 years or more) Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 8am-1:30pm @ Burnsville City Hall
1-day course that every returning referee with more than 3 years of experience has to attend to complete the requirements for recertification.

How Much does it Cost to Become a Referee?

• The Registration Fee: This is a fee that covers your referee registration with US Soccer.  It is paid every year and it varies by referee grade.  For a Grade 9 referee the registration fee is $20.  For a Grade 8 referee the registration fee is $25.
• The Clinic Fee: The MN State Referee Committee charges a $5 clinic fee to anybody who attends an Entry Level Clinic or a Grade 9 Clinic.  The clinic fee for a referee attending a recertification fee is $20.
